Bonfire at Capistrano Beach

On Monday we had a bonfire at Capo Beach. We had a ton of wood in our backyard that we needed to get rid of and we thought a bonfire was the perfect way to do it. We got there early to grab a pit (because even on a Monday bonfire pits get saved early) and Braden played in the ocean. He didn't like it when the waves got above his knees so he relocated to the sand where he played quite happily for a long time.

Everybody brought so much food! It was all so delicious. We had sodas, hot dogs, brownies, watermelon, chips, s'mores, and more.

There were tons of kids.
Brooklyn Trotter came over to pat Braden on the head and sit with him for a little while. I think she was trying to figure out why Braden found the sand so fascinating.

Logan Didlake was a little sugar baby. He was covered in sand and loved crawling around in it. He is so cute and so tiny!

Braden started to get pretty pooped but still wanted to stay awake and play with everyone.

It was a beautiful night to be at the beach.

The older kids had a great time roasting marshmallows and making s'mores.

Later on, Matt burned some old stuff that he wanted to get rid of. It was a cathartic experience. :)

Towards the end of the night, Braden finally got so tired that he passed out.

We had such an awesome time. Thanks to everyone who came!

Ahh, that looks like a great time at the beach. It's always great to end the day with a bonfire. As night falls and the sun sets, the fire starts to feel bigger, as the glow becomes more prominent in the dark. It's a great marker of another good day 'round the beach.
